UD LGBTQ+ History Project
This collection consists of nine oral histories of LGBTQ+ alumni of the University of Delaware, along with transcripts created by the students who conducted the interviews.
The individuals represented in the collection attended the university between 1975 and 2016, with one returning to resume a course of study in 2021. The oral histories cover such topics as queer life on campus, queer life in Newark and the surrounding areas, interviewees’ involvement with student organizations, student advocacy and activism, evolution of university policy and societal opinion regarding LGBTQ+ individuals, and anti-LGBTQ+ harassment and violence.
