Patriotic Order of the Sons of America

The Patriotic Order of the Sons of America collection consists of correspondence, annual meeting reports, printed flyers, and organizational documents dating from 1905-1910. Most items are dated and appear to have been collected by an unidentified member of the Patriotic Order of the Sons of America, Camp #16 in Cheswold, Delaware.

Shipley-Bringhurst-Hargraves Family Papers

Shipley, Bringhurst, and Hargraves are the family names associated with Rockwood, a Victorian Rural Gothic Revival mansion and estate that was built in north Wilmington, Delaware, between 1851 and 1854. The photographs series of the family papers (MSS 684 Series IV.A), circa 1840-1980 (bulk dates 1880-1935), comprises approximately ten thousand photos created and kept by the extended Bringhurst family and contains examples of early photographic processes, historic original prints, and later prints developed from original negatives.

W. Barksdale Maynard Photographs

The W. Barksdale Maynard photographs of Delaware collection contains color slides and digital images of numerous buildings, signs, structures, and locations throughout the state, primarily documenting Delaware's architectural history. The collection is arranged into three series, one each for Delaware's three counties: Series I. New Castle County, Series II. Kent County, and Series III. Sussex County. Within each series, images are sorted by the town or geographic area where the images were taken.

Desegregation of Delaware

The collection consists of reports, articles, and other papers related to desegregation which were collected as resource files by Abigail Covelli. Delaware started a desegregation project in the public school system in the mid 1970s, and the bulk of the collection relates to this project. Included are desegregation proposals, demographic information, advisory literature, workshop information, and studies and reports on the progress and results of desegregation.
